Heathen Industries SBK R1 – The Middle

The Heathen Industries SBK R1 is a one off, built by Hewie. The bike was inspired by World Super Bikes and and is based on a 2004 Yamaha R1. The body work of the bike is painted in a coat a custom “yella” paint from PPG with 9 coats of pearl metallic paint and tinted clear over the top with the frame and custom SBK styled swingarm being painted in a subtle metallic 5 pearl “Teflon” colour.

The bike is constantly in development and it is expected to be complete …. sometime.

The bike was first displayed at the Northam Motorcycle festival in 2008. Since that time we have constantly been developing new ideas and components for it

Recently we added a custom airbox cover to accommodate the screen for the new Ant Racing Rearview system and a billet housing for the associated camera.

Currently in the pipeline is a all billet subframe which has been completely redesigned to allow NOS to be fitted within the tail section itself. We also have a number of other exciting developments instore for the bike ……. but you’ll just have to come back to see what they are.

As a bit of a laugh we left a video recorder going in the corner while we out the bike together. All up we recorded 10 days of video, we then compressed it down to just 6 minutes of footage.
